PTA TEACHER GRANTS

The John Read Middle School PTA is excited to continue its Teacher Grant Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This program is designed to support classroom projects and creative learning ideas. It is one of the simplest ways to turn a great concept into something that directly benefits students.

If you are a teacher at JRMS and have an idea that could use a little extra support, this is for you! Here are the basic rules:

  • Must be a current member of the JRMS PTA.

  • Grants up to $200 (For special projects, staff can pool grant requests for consideration of larger expenditures).

  • You may request multiple grants, but the combined individual total may not exceed $200.

Sometimes it only takes a small grant to make a big impact in the classroom. These grants can be used for programs, projects and activities that fall within the scope of the school curriculum.

To request grant funding, staff members should submit a completed Grant Application Form, signed by both the staff and the Principal. The application may be left in the PTA mailbox in the school office.

Questions may be directed to JRMSPTAinfo@gmail.com.

Criteria:

• To be eligible for grant funding, all applicants must be a member of the PTA in good standing.

• The program/event/purchase in need of funding must be relevant to the curriculum and must enhance new or current curriculum goals or the activities of a school-related club.

• Grant funds may not be used toward PTA-sponsored programs.

• Grant funds can only be applied for the purpose described in the application and not re-directed to supplement other programs, classroom endeavors or field trips.

• Some funding decisions may be made at the discretion of the Redding Board of Education.

• Funding for gift certificates is not permitted.
